What’s the difference between wearable and electric pumps?
Electric pumps use tubing and a separate motor, while wearable pumps fit inside your bra and allow hands-free pumping.
What are the benefits of double electric pumps?
They allow you to pump both breasts at the same time, saving time while offering customizable settings that support milk supply—especially for moms who are exclusively pumping.
What is a hand-free wearable breast pump?
A wearable pump is a compact, cordless pump designed to fit inside your bra so you can pump on the go.
Are wearable pumps as strong as electric breast pumps?
Many wearable pumps offer strong suction, but traditional electric pumps may be better for exclusive or long-term pumping.
When is a manual breast pump a good choice?
Manual pumps are great for occasional pumping, travel, or backup use.
What’s the difference between an open system and a closed system?
A closed-system breast pump contains a barrier between the milk collection kit and the pump’s motor. This barrier decreases the likelihood that expressed milk will become contaminated with mold, bacteria, and environmental allergens.
A breast pump with an open system does not have a barrier and requires extra care to reduce the chances of contamination.
Although a closed system is more hygienic, we still advise you to clean and sanitize your breast pump according to the manufacturer’s instructions and CDC Guidelines
Please Note: All of our breast pumps—including those with closed systems—are meant to be used by only one person and should never be shared because of safety concerns. Refer to the section Used Breast Pumps on this page for more information.
Can teenagers and young mothers use Storkpump?
Yes. If you’re pregnant and have insurance, you can use Storkpump—age does not disqualify you.
Are your breast pumps safe for premature babies?
Yes. Our pumps are FDA-approved, hospital – strength and commonly used by moms of premature and NICU babies.
